I got my Ontario Handicap permit today. got my first prescription filled on Ontario health there is an annual deductable of $100.00 so theis Rx cost me 48 dillars. I would cost 40$ copay in the states because it is a tear 3 drug.
I saw Dr.Taylor monday - my sugar and blood pressure are out of controll. he wants me back in a week. No charge paid by ontario health.

I have my Permanent residence card, My OHIP care and my SIN card. also imported my car and have Ontario plates but The drivers licence office is on strike so I can't get my Ontario licence and Canadian insurance companys will give me insurance with out it.
Allstate in NY continues to insure me with my NY plates still on the car.
I said good bye to Dr Hannan and have been accepted as a patient here in Toronto by Dr Martin Taylor. I saw hi today and he verified my handicap status.

I became a permanent resident of Canada July 30 2009 . It has taken many hours filling the seeming endless paperwork involved. I finally applied in April 2009 and it was accepted July 30. I was expecting many more months of waiting for this. I will retain my USA citizenship but will be able to apply for Canadian citizenship in 3 years. We will think on that at a later date

I applied for the Ontario health insurance card .It will become effective on October 30 and I have a  SIN # now ( Like a Social Security number). I am waiting now for the credentials to come in the mail.

I received my temporary resident permit ( visitor  record) Last week . I am relieved. Sent in all the paperwork for the permenant resident card last month but may have to do the physical all over again. The whole month of april was devoted to medical tests concerning my heart health. All tests were  A-OK. My leg continues to swell daily and it is a real problem for me. Doctor has increased   diaretic and BP. Meds. we will see how that works.

Today is Victoria day here in Canada. went for Breakfast at 1:30 to Canadiana Restraunt.

Well it is almost a year since I started this blog so this will be my entry for 2008 -LOL
Tomorrow I get a physical to see if they will let me stay here in Toronto Canada for another 6 months. I think it will turn out ok.

Got up at 10 am today.Yeah another day alive. when you are 65 you just never know if you are going to wake up !
Jim came at 11 am and we went to Hollywood Cafe for lunch - I had Ox tongue casserole.Yuck
