New Years Flowers

Between Christmas and the New Year my plants decided to put on a show ! The orchid shot up a spike with 5 buds and the first bloomed on Christmas day (I am told) the Remaining buds opened this last week. This plant has bloomed twice since it was brought home.
the Hibiscuses both bloomed right after I returned and so did the Christmas Cactus. It is so exciting !

Happy New Year

Well it is 2012 - I will be 70 years old this year in August! Can't believe it . It is strange that I really don't feel any different than when I was 20 or 30. I would expect that some of us seniors become crabby codgers. I am trying to stay young in mind if not body. I think the reason that older people become miserable is that they (we) still feel like 20 year olds trapped in an old person's body and there are so many things that we used to take for granted that we can no longer do. Shall I list them? here goes: Run, jump, dance, take long walks, climb stairs, descend stairs, get up from chairs or toilets that are too low. & Things we can't eat: candy, pie, cookies, ice cream, white bread and basically anything that is pleasurable.
Sex is another subject altogether! Damm! At least I have great sex dreams !
I will add that there are great things associated with being old: Grand children, retirement, senior discounts and I hope wisdom to list a few.
Any way have a Happy and Prosperous New Year and don't worry about the Mayan Calendar !
